Talking

It seems like every day our girl is just a little different. She crawls EVERYWHERE now, which is a lot of fun but I can't let her out of my site. She giggles as she crawls towards our shoes, and she loves to play with Tucker's water in his water bowl. Speaking of which, she is giggling right now while making a mess of my shoes! Yesterday she crawled after Tucker saying "Cucker, Cucker" over and over it was adorable. This morning she also said "gog" for dog. It's just so cute!

Crawling

Sophia has gone from a hesitant crawler to a pro! She started crawling a few weeks ago, but never ventured too far. Just these past few days she has realized she can crawl everywhere! She goes into the den, the kitchen, dining room, wherever she feels. No more leaving her to play because I never know where I'll find her if I do. Here's a video of our champ crawler:

Trouble

Now that Sophia is more mobile she is getting into more things... and by things, I mean toys! She can reach  many of the bins that have toys, so she enjoys pulling lots of toys out and spreading them all over the floor. She has also figured out how to start pulling herself up a little, onto her knees, but not onto her feet yet, but after watching her tonight, I don't think that's too far off!

Details

Tonight Ricky took Sophia to the sink to wash her hands off after getting food all over them. She loved playing with the water. She just kept running her hands through the water so I had to catch a picture!

On Sunday, the day before Sophia turned 10 months old, Sophia crawled for the first time!!! She is still no expert, she crawls a little, and then lays down to do her default army crawl. It's pretty cute though!

The weather has been so beautiful this week, so of course, I could not resist taking pictures of Sophia while we were at the park.

Life

I can't believe that Sophia turn 10 months old this past Monday. Where has time gone? The screen saver on my computer randomly displays pictures from our photo albums, and whenever I see the early ones of Sophia I get a sad but warm feeling inside. Recently I joined a mommy/baby exercise class called Stroller Strides. I've been making an effort to go at least twice a week. It is so great to get out, get some exercise and get to see other moms and babies. Today there was a mom there with a girl who recently turned one. She was walking (a little), and just looked so big. How is it that Sophia will be there in 2 short months?

I work nights, and when I get home in the morning I lay down, sleep a few hours then get up to spend the rest of my day with Sophia, and Ricky if he's home. Last Sunday when I woke up Ricky had Sophia in her swing watching Baby Signing Times. I laid down on the couch and dozed off again, and when I woke up I found Sophia still in her swing sound asleep. She hasn't slept in her swing in so many months! Here's a little comparison:

In the past few days Sophia has learned to go from laying down to sitting. She is very mobile- she rolls everywhere! She gets up on her hands and knees, rocks forward, but instead of crawling she lays down and rolls. She can get whatever she wants by rolling so why crawl!?

Is it spring?

Well it sure feels like spring with weather in the high 60s! I love the clear blue skies and so does Sophia because it means we can go to the park. I may appear to be obsessed with pictures of my girl in a swing, but there is a purpose for all these pictures- for Valentine's day Ricky got me a gift card to have a picture turned into a canvas and I think a swing picture would work so well, so I'm trying to get one that I want blown up to hang on our wall!
