GIRL! We're having another girl!

We've been having a fun month! We took Sophia to zoo lights, which she loved, until she got too cold and started to scream. We had a big snow storm the other day, so we took Sophia out to play in the snow. She's still not so sure of all that cold white stuff!

Yes, that's right... for those of you who don't know already... baby #2 is due May 13th! What another great mother's day present! I had Sophia 2 days before mother's day 19 months ago. These two kiddos are going to be exactly two years apart in age. Tomorrow we find out, boy or girl!?

Seeing Santa

Last year Sophia looked in awe when she sat on Santa's lap. This year, that wasn't the case. After waiting an hour and fifteen minutes to see Santa, she decided to scream. She was fine waiting- there were lots of kids, I brought snacks for her, and there was a snow palace at the end where the kids could play in fake snow. Here's our classic picture.

18 months

Finally got Sophia in for her 18 month check-up.  Here are her current measurements:

Weight: 23 pounds, 32%
Height: 33 1/4 inches, 86%

She's a tall and skinny little girl! The doctor was very impressed with her and her verbal skills.

It's been a while...

Life has gotten the best of us recently. I've been overwhelmed with school, and Ricky started a new job a few weeks ago. Things are settling down now, and it's nice to have Ricky home a whole lot more. We took Sophia trick-or-treating for the first time last night. She was a little bumble bee. We only went to a few neighbors' houses to say hello, but she got the hang of it really quickly. "If I hold my hand out someone will put candy in it!" Here are some pictures from the past couple months.

First snow of the season

Ricky's 30th Birthday

Ricky turned 30 at the end of August! We went out for a yummy breakfast on his birthday, but unfortunately he had to work that afternoon. Sophia and I surprised him at work though, with a yummy chipolte burrito. The following weekend we had a bunch of friends over for dinner to celebrate. We got the fire pit going, and had a blast taking nighttime pictures.

LA trip

We went to LA a few weeks ago. We spent 4 days there. Since my parents' pool was under construction we spent a lot of time at the beach. Sophia LOVED the beach. She spent hours playing in the sun, and occasionally checking out the ocean. She didn't mind her feet getting wet but she was a little skeptical of the water. The last day we were there we went to a local farmer's market. At the market this was a small petting zoo. Sophia had a blast! She walked around looking, petting, hugging, and feeding the animals.
