Just two more

Here are two more photos from this month that I think are pretty cute.

Zoo

Thank you to my wonderful in-laws who gave us a zoo membership for the year!!! I'm so excited to be able to take Sophia to the zoo whenever I want. I decided to go on Monday with Linda and the two kids she was watching, who just LOVE Sophia. Sophia didn't quite get it yet, but she did look at the polar bear, and some of the other animals that came up close. She also took a nice nap on her mommy. Here are some pictures from our first trip to the zoo.

I know this picture is blurry, but it's just too funny!

Christmas

This was Sophia's first Christmas!!! It was such a special day for us. In the morning we came downstairs and the three of us opened stockings together in our PJs of course. We opened the rest of the presents later with the rest of the family. Then, my mom cooked a delicious Christmas meal! The best part of the entire day is that Sophia said "mama" and actually meant it for the first time. I don't think I could have gotten a better Christmas present.

My parents have been in town 2 weeks now because their trip to NY got cancelled due to weather. It's been great having them here. Ricky and I got to go skiing for 2 days. They were two wonderful powder days in Winter Park/Mary Jane. We also got to enjoy a dinner out, just the two of us, which was a first since Sophia was born. Tonight we plan on going out again once Sophia is sleeping for a nice New Years Eve dinner. We've seen my grandmother a few times in the past couple weeks which has been great. She LOVES seeing Sophia. Our baby cakes has been on her best behavior and is such an angel. She rolls all over the place now, plays with toys, and babbles up a storm. Once this girl starts to talk I don't think we'll get her to be quiet! She currently can sign "dog" and "mama." Hopefully more words will come soon. Ricky is really hoping she'll start saying "dada" soon too :)

Here are some pictures from Christmas.

Christmas Eve

This year we did not go to MJ and Mike's for Christmas Eve because of Sophia. She goes to bed normally between 7 and 8, so we didn't want to stray to far from home. We went down the street to have fondue, and other food and we came home as soon as Sophia was getting sleepy. It worked out well. It was fun to see all our neighborhood friends too! Here is our cuteness on Christmas Eve.

Santa

Sophia met Santa today! At first she just stared at him, then she looked around and smiled, and then she decided she was done, and started to cry. It was adorable!

Rolling over some more

Since 3 months old, Sophia has been able to roll from her tummy to her back, but she hasn't been able to figure out how to roll from her back to her tummy. Finally, last night, when reaching for a toy, she finally figured it out. Today she rolled from one end of her play room to the other trying to reach a toy I kept moving away from her. Babyproofing this house may need to start soon!!! We're so proud of her though.

Our angel

We had a photographer come and take some 6 month photos of our little girl. Despite being sick, the pictures turned out beautifully. Here are just a few of those pictures...

6 months old and everything changes

Wow, we have reached lots of milestones recently. Sophia can sit all by herself now. She loves to sit and play (as long as mommy is right near by). She has started eating some solid foods. She loves rice cereal, despises carrots, and is unsure about sweet potatoes. She has made it quite clear though, that she will not eat anything that isn't mixed with breast milk. She is also sleeping through the night now! She sleeps from 7pm to 7am, and occasionally will wake up at 5 to eat, but most nights she sleeps the full 12 hours without waking up. It is wonderful! She is also napping much better during the day. She is sleeping in her own room now in her crib, which is such a big change for us. I miss having her so close by, but she's getting so much more sleep now because she isn't waking up every 2 hours to eat. We're getting a lot more sleep, however, I'm still having trouble sleeping all night without waking up, but I know that'll get better as time goes on. Finally, we had our first snow!!! Here are some recent pictures of our 6 month old
