Rolling over some more

Since 3 months old, Sophia has been able to roll from her tummy to her back, but she hasn't been able to figure out how to roll from her back to her tummy. Finally, last night, when reaching for a toy, she finally figured it out. Today she rolled from one end of her play room to the other trying to reach a toy I kept moving away from her. Babyproofing this house may need to start soon!!! We're so proud of her though.

6 months old and everything changes

Wow, we have reached lots of milestones recently. Sophia can sit all by herself now. She loves to sit and play (as long as mommy is right near by). She has started eating some solid foods. She loves rice cereal, despises carrots, and is unsure about sweet potatoes. She has made it quite clear though, that she will not eat anything that isn't mixed with breast milk. She is also sleeping through the night now! She sleeps from 7pm to 7am, and occasionally will wake up at 5 to eat, but most nights she sleeps the full 12 hours without waking up. It is wonderful! She is also napping much better during the day. She is sleeping in her own room now in her crib, which is such a big change for us. I miss having her so close by, but she's getting so much more sleep now because she isn't waking up every 2 hours to eat. We're getting a lot more sleep, however, I'm still having trouble sleeping all night without waking up, but I know that'll get better as time goes on. Finally, we had our first snow!!! 6 month check up

We took Sophia in for her 6 month check up today. She'll be 6 months on Sunday, I can't believe it! Her new stats:
Weight: 16 pounds 13 ounces (71st percentile)
Length: 26 and 5/8 inches (84th percentile)

We started getting a little tougher with her when it comes to sleeping at night. It's been getting a bit easier, last night she slept 7 hours straight, and the night before she got in 9 straight hours! It was wonderful. The doctor said it's time for her to be sleeping through the night though, from 7pm-5am, so that's our next goal. She also said it's time to stop swaddling. So, today, we put her down for a nap without swaddling in her own crib for the very first time! Tonight will be her first night in her crib, hopefully it goes well...

The past few weeks

Sophia is growing up so quickly. She's so funny. She makes silly noises, laughs, plays, jumps (in her jumperoo), and refuses to stay on her tummy (she just immediately rolls over). She'll be 6 months in just a few days, so I thought I'd post some pictures from the past few weeks, her 5th month. 

Halloween

Sophia decided to sleep through all the trick-or-treaters. This year, for the first time ever at the house, we got lots of kids coming by! It was so much fun.
